The Macedon Ranges stretches from Gisborne in the south to Kyneton and Malmsbury in the north, with Mount Macedon and Woodend at its heart. Each pocket has its own character. The area around Hanging Rock is open grassland and volcanic stone. Woodend sits at the edge of the forest.
